European Psoriasis Week 2025: Advancing Equity in Psoriasis Care Across Europe
26 May – 2 June 2025
This year, the European Psoriasis Week shines a spotlight on equity — the cornerstone of quality healthcare. Under the banner #EPW2025, EUROPSO, the European Federation of Psoriasis Associations, is calling for urgent and coordinated action to ensure equal access to diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care for all individuals living with psoriasis across Europe.
Psoriasis is not merely a skin condition — it is a chronic, systemic disease with significant physical, psychological, and social burdens. Despite growing awareness, disparities persist. From one country to another, patients face unacceptable differences in access to innovative therapies, timely diagnoses, and support services tailored to their comorbidities — including cardiovascular and mental health conditions.
As part of EPW2025, EUROPSO calls attention to these inequities and urges policymakers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory agencies to commit to harmonising standards of care and access throughout Europe. In doing so, we align with the European Commission’s EU Healthier Together Initiative, which seeks to reduce health inequalities and premature mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
“Equity in healthcare is not a slogan — it’s a human right. Living with psoriasis should not mean facing a lifetime of fragmented care, late diagnosis, or lack of access to treatment simply because of where you live,” says David Trigos Herráez, EUROPSO Vice-President. “We must act together to close the gap.”
Key Messages of #EPW2025:
- Equity must be the foundation of all psoriasis care strategies.
- Access to therapies should be timely, affordable, and based on need — not location or economic status.
- Diagnosis must be accelerated through education, digital tools, and standardised pathways.
- Treatment should include not just skin symptoms, but also comorbidities and psychological well-being.
Across Europe, patient organisations, clinicians, and researchers are joining forces this week to highlight the systemic changes needed. Through digital campaigns, awareness events, and policy dialogues, EPW2025 aims to ensure that equity becomes reality — not just rhetoric.
